Wow. A complicated fully imagined world with sophisticated relationships and well written prose--don't run into THOSE often enough. A real pleasure to read.

I will follow you to the end. More please.

Okay, this was just...wonderful...or fabulous or some other superlative. It's fun. It's well written. And so far it has a Buffy and a Spike with brains of their own and not on the autopilot of conditioning. No Buffy whipped Spike. No rigid, controlling, denying, violence automaton of a Buffy. They live, they breathe and so do all the minor characters.

*sigh of contentment and great joy*

REALLY, REALLY looking forward to the rest of the story.

Author's Response: Aww, don't you think Spike is just a bit whipped? :) But thank you so much for the compliments! I try to keep Buffy and Spike as real as possible, while still having them be Buffy and Spike. Thanks for reviewing, and I hope you keep enjoying!

It's been a while since I enjoyed a story as much as this one. I love the darker, actual vampire behavin' Spike and the practical, eyes-open Buffy. I'm really looking forward to your next installment!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that you're enjoying it so much! Thanks for reviewing!

*sigh* I love this story. I think it's your interpretations of the the characters and the relationships between them that really get to me. They are just so full and well rounded.

Thanks for the chapter. Looking eagerly forward to the next one.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you're liking the way the relationships are building, because it seems I am incapable of writing quick get togethers, LOL. When I first started this, I thought it go for a couple of months, be 20 or 30 thousand words; how wrong was I? :) The story I wanted to tell hasn't changed, but it's just taking me a long time to get there. I'm glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for reviewing!

A Forced Fate by LadyEnchanted Rated: NC-17 Liked [Reviews - 51]
Summary: Take everything you know about season two and forget it. Spike is in Sunnydale with Drusilla looking to cure her illness (pre-Angelus) when a demigod steps in and forces something on Spike he really didn't want: a soul. And that's only the beginning.

Well this is fun. Although a lot of the usual elements are present I have honestly been surprised at just about every new plot turn. And boy is THAT refreshing! Also kinda nice to see an Angel that isn't a total wanker. Shows a bit of imagination there.

Really interested to know what will happen next. Oh yeah, and the NEXT next as well.

Wow. I really, really like this! I'm a sucker for a Spike and a Buffy that actually think for themselves and don't behave like programed robots.

I think your plot and character developments are nuanced, truthful, and brilliant. I'm tired of authors putting Buffy in horrendous situations and not writing them with the pain and dignity they deserve. Thankfully this is NOT one of them.

I know that in the end Angelus and Drusilla are probably going down and there will be spuffy. But I don't really care about the rest. I'm enjoying your imagination and clear, flowing style.

Eagerly awaiting more and just LOVIN' the ride.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm really trying to let the characters develop at a natural pace, taking their pasts in considering. Happy to hear you think I'm succeding :) Thanks again for the review!

I love this story. L-O-V-E this story.

I love the care and thought that has gone into making the characters truly themselves. REAL. There are no cliches or conventions here. The easy road has not been taken. It is fresh. It is unique. It is only itself.

I like how the relationship is not rushed, how they have been given the courtesy and acknowledgement of having feelings and pasts and that they have true meaning and impact on their reactions and choices. The pacing is perfect IMO.

I am enjoying this so much that I am not eager for it to end--but AM eager for the next chapter whereupon I am sure I will continue my happy dance of excitement! ;)

Beautiful job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I've really tried to let their pasts have, as you put it, "have true meaning on their reactions and choices" - glad you think I've succeded.

The Truce by Eternal_red Rated: NC-17 Liked [Reviews - 442]
Summary: Once in a galaxy, far, far...oh, that’s been done. Right then. Humankind has been at war with the Aurelians for decades. When the two sides finally reach the point where negotiation is better than annihilation, a truce is called and a treaty negotiated on the planet currently under dispute. The peace treaty is cemented symbolically by the joining in marriage of the two youngest soldiers present, thereby throwing Buffy and Spike into a relationship that they really, really, don’t want. Although not a traditional Vampire versus Slayer scenario, it is close enough to be familiar.

Well this is really different--and different is definitely of the good.

Since it feels to me like the story has barely begun I am hoping that there will be a little more to it than "How Buffy and Spike get together this time." You have put WAY too much world building effort into histories, cultures, and well, planets to not have your story deal with the interesting political situation you have set up. (As a for instance) I can see that this has the potential to be VERY cool.

Here's hopin'.

More please.

Author's Response: Thank you for that. You're quite right. I do have a plot developing somewhere in all this and the next chapter will push the story into some major new directions.

Summary: One slight mistake in a spell intended to re-soul Angelus lands Buffy in an alternate universe where no one is who they should be, and nothing makes sense. She’s desperate to return to her home, but when she starts to fall for her new Watcher, William Pratt, she begins to wonder where she really belongs. AU after the events of Innocence.

After reading waaay too much spuffy what I'm really looking for is something well written, non-juvenile, and unexpected. This story seems to be all of those things.

I love it when authors find some twists and aspects that haven't been explored. I love that feeling of being off-balance from what I know to be true from cannon. This story has that so far and I want some more please.

So go ahead. Make it hurt. Make it hard. Don't take the easy roads and...surprise me. Oh. And give me that happy ending. Because...no ending would equal great pain. And pain sucks.

Author's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review, BreathesStory. I hope what I have planned for this story doesn't disappoint. This twisted, turned around reality has a lot of kinks to be worked out for the characters, but in the end I'll hopefully give you that happy ending you're hoping for. But no, the road won't be easy. Keep reading and please, let me know what you think!

Date: 04/04/2008 Title: Chapter 4: "What are we toasting?"

I'd definitely like to see more of this story. I like how naturally the interactions between the characters flow from the initial set up.

Just for me I'm kind of wondering how long a story this will eventually be since it still feels like it's in the introduction phase. A lovely introduction of course, but really not much has happened yet, and since a story is about what happens... Well, I am just eager to see what the point will be. Hopefully something original and not cliche.

Once I can predict what's going to happen next I get bored and stop reading--because what's the point? I read somewhere once that the art of telling a story consists of giving the audience what they want without giving it to them in any predictable way. Or something like that.

You have great dialog instincts by the way. The people sound TRUE.

So...suprise me. Give it to me good.

Author's Response: Definitely agree that a predictable story is an uninteresting story--why read if it's just confirming what's already in your imagination? Hopefully I can surprise you, while retaining the same elements you already like about the story. Thanks for your comments on my dialogue and characterization, those are the elements I work the hardest at so I'm glad to hear it's paying off. Hope I continue to entertain, and maybe surprise if I can.
