My whole reason for watching Buffy in the first place was for David Boreanaz. I love Bones and even Spike fans must admit that DB is a total cutie on that show. At the same time I was falling in love with Bones, I was also loving the show Leverage, most notably this guy named Christian Kane - you may have heard of him (can I just say, Gah! Oh, baby!).

I actually watched the entire DVD set of Angel before I ever watched a single episode of BtVS - because, duh - DB and CK? PLEEASE! (I have to say that I liked Angel more on Angel, the Series than on BtVS - he developed a better sense of humor in L.A.! - ok, don't hate me for it!)

When I finished watching Angel, then I bought the BtVS DVD set and watched it.

When I first started watching, I couldn't figure out why everyone was so ga-ga about Spike. I mean, yeah, totally hot and too funny, but evil, right? I know he ended up GOOD from watching Angel, but how he got there was a mystery.

Then it happened - Joss redeemed Spike, Spike fell in love with Buffy, he went to the end of the world for her and she treated him like crap (bad Buffy writers!). Then, of course, I got it. I am now in the Spike corner, on his bandwagon and leading the parade.

Like most people, I turned to Fanfic to "fix" what Joss and the other evil writers on BtVS did to Spike. I've read quite a lot and then decided to give writing a go. My first story is "Unexpected" and I *TRY* to "fix" Buffy and Spike's life. Not everything is Puppies and Blood, but hopefully, it all works out in the end {{grin}}.

Summary: A 2011 Buffy back in 1880 along with William Pratt. After an ocean voyage and a stop in New York City, our couple sets off across the American West.

There are showdowns, riots, murder and olde tyme bathing suits. The story is also chock full of history and you'll learn all the 'hip slang' from these wacky Victorians in no time. It also features a few real historical figures, but no spoilers. I'll only say that it is NOT Genghis Khan and Amelia Earhart. Put that thought right out of your mind.

Though this is a sequel to "Yours, William," it also works as a stand alone. I had to take down "Yours" as I'm rewriting as an original. You can email me about this if you want info.

Oh boy! Well, you got the waterworks from me when Buffy remembered being Elizabeth and got all the memories from 'the future' back. So - good job! And Buffy's the Slayer ... again! Will Giles' grandmother make an appearance as her Watcher? Will that mean Dru and William will come after her now?

The train sex was yummy. Very good job on both their parts staying quiet, too! And, oh, darn about the walrus bros. toppling down! LOL! If they landed on their heads, then I'm sure they were not hurt in the making of this scene.

And what of Miss Edith? What the heck happened there? Guess I'll have to wait and see. Does that mean Dru's gonna lose her power of sight?

Hmmm ... lots going on - can't wait for more!

Author's Response: P4S, when you said something about Buffy being the slayer in the last chapter, I was SO GOOD and didn\'t give you a spoiler!! I\'m crap at keeping secrets ordinarily. I almost nuked the trainsex bit because I wasn\'t sure how it fit with the Dru/Billy stuff, so I\'m glad you talked about it. In the end, I decided it fit ok and mirrored Dru and Billy and worked with it that way. Two of your questions will be answered next chapter: what of Miss Edith and will Dru be pursued. Well, mostly that one will be answered. Hmmm. Difficult to ... Anyway! I will answer the Watcher question as well, but not ... next chapter. This is me, shutting up!

Ooooo - Wow - twists and turns! The PTB are tricky suckers! And not entirely nice, basically killing their own Slayer like that. Bad PTB, BAD! Poor Buffy - you had me laughing (about the fruitcake gift) and misty eyed at the same time. And now William and Dru will be after William and, therefore, Buffy. Oh my! Very worrisome, indeed!

Hope you're feeling better and can lure your muse out to play so we can see what happens when both of Dru's Williams meet.

OH Yay William! Good on ya!! Don't let her get away with that hooey of leaving you with no explanation - or even with one! Of course, it could get you killed... that would be bad. Try to not get killed or turned or beat up. OK, c'mon Buffy, time to buck up now - let him in - he deserves your trust and honesty.

I do feel badly for Buffy, and understand her wanting to let William stay happy, but she should know by now that secrets aren't the way. And thank you, Puddin' for letting Billy out of his box for a moment! Describing someone as Charlie Sheen's 'crazy brother' ... wow - low blow! :) Better watch your back, Billy! Emilio might be gunnin' for ya!

Hmmm ... so, I wonder if the evil Buffy felt was an actual demon, or simply the hatred emanating from the crowd. And, she may be the Slayer, but that many rioters with guns and torches could easily kill her. Poor William, thinking she's gone mad (perhaps she has!) and that he should've seen it sooner. I wish she would've trusted him enough to tell him - although the Slayer always feels like she has to hold things in. I wonder if that's part of the mojo the Shadowmen put in all Slayers: Secrecy. Interesting history lesson as well. History books, I've seen quite clearly as I do some research on my own upcoming story, are written by the victors. (Thank you for your help on that, BTW!)

Another chapter with wonderful spuffy banter. Love how you write Spike vacillating between the Big Bad, 'I'm gonna kill you guy' and worried about Buffy and her well being. Very true to the character. But now you have me worried they're gonna get caught. eeek!

Love Giles and Spike getting along and shocking Buffy, and the Buffy/Spike banter is always fun! Poor Harm .... {shakes head} she's just so dizzy. It would be hard for Buffy to dust someone that stupid. Can't hold it against the Slayer.

I never knew of anyone being able to invite someone in if they didn't actually live in the house. I remember specifically Buffy saying that in that Ep when Dawn invited Harmony in (saying that neither Xander nor Anya could do it). Anyway, not a big deal, I just didn't recall the circumstance or that 'rule'... although I'm sure you're right. Heck, the writers couldn't even remember Cecily's last name from one season to another! duh!

Author's Response: *nods* Buffy just thinks Harmony\'s too dumb to bother with. Not a very good slayer attitude, but you really can\'t blame her. :) I actually thought I\'d seen Buffy invite Spike in during Pangs, but when I checked the transcript, it looks like the scene faded into another one before she actually said it, so I dunno. I just asked about it on my LJ because I have so many people on there who are very knowledgeable about canon, and most of them were comfortable with the idea that someone who was a welcome and frequent visitor or guest probably could do it. The site with all the show \"lore\" on it pretty much said the same thing - a resident or someone with permission to be there - which would certainly include Buffy. :) It\'s one of those things that, if and when I do a complete rewatch, I will be watching for and making notes about.

Enjoying the premise of this - it does make sense that the ring might help Buffy too. And I can see Spike being pissed about her calling him on not fighting fair - he is evil yet honorable. A very strange vampire. :) The only small problem with this chapter is that Buffy couldn't invite Spike into Giles' house - Giles would have to do it. But still ... not a biggie, I'm sure with a bit more encouragement, she could've gotten Giles to do it.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you\'re enjoying it. I actually asked some people, and did a little research on canon stuff and it looks like (shocker!) the writers weren\'t terribly consistent about it. The consensus seems to be that anyone who has the owner\'s permission to be in the residence can do an invite. With Buffy being in and out of Giles\'s apartment so often, and being so comfortable there, I\'m operating on the assumption that she is close enough to a resident to be able to invite a vampire in. But thanks for the catch - it\'s always good to check those things when I get too \"creative\" with canon. :)

Of course the Initiative, it's predecessor being the Org. that recruited Angel, would have those old Nazi papers and would be the ones reigniting that experiment makes total sense! I'd never put that together before, but you are sooo totally right about that! Awesome!

Author's Response: :) I\'d love to take credit for it, but Lilachigh\'s We Will Remember Them is the one that really linked that one Angel flashback episode with the Initiative. And did it beautifully and believably. I\'ve used that idea a couple of times in season 4 fics, because it makes perfect sense, but I do think she used it first. This late on, I can\'t remember if/when the idea first occurred to me, but she put it out there.

Oh my goodness! A wonderfully done fight! Poor Spike getting eaten by Willow - and not in a good way. We all know Willow can be bad-ass when she needs to be - especially controlled by a demon. And yeah, Giles still has some moves too. I'm glad Spike didn't kill them - that would've been very bad for him. Glad Buffy figured it out in time to allow Spike to move a bit and the stake hit off target ... which is what I assume happened. Does this mean all the rest of the ghosties outside are gone now too? We can hope. Look forward to more.

Also loved Spike helping Joyce out and their budding friendship ... or perhaps more than budding, actually - full bloom.

Poor Buffy in Bizarro Land! Can't wait to see what happens when Spike drinks some of her blood. Hope he still has on the sweat pants! heehee!

While reading this chapter a quote, I think from Robin Williams, came to mind: 'God gave men a brain and a penis, unfortunately, he didn't give them enough blood to operate both at the same time.' :) Poor Spike, getting hot and bothered by squirmy Buffy. “Do you, um, think you could get off now?” Buffy, Buffy, Buffy ... you can't give him a straight line like that! heehee!

Love all Buffy's embarrassment and Spike taking the piss out of her. These ware-bears seem to be quite a problem, however. Can they be hurt after they turn solid? B/S didn't actually try, just ran - which, granted, was probably a good idea, but still a question.

Author's Response: Classic Buffy not thinking before she speaks ;) Unchipped, early season Spike is my fave, hands down! I love stories where he and Buffy are forced to co-operate for a common goal and all the snark, bickering and UST that comes from it :D The spirit animals can flicker betwen solid (to inflict harm on their victim) and incorporeal (in order not to take any damage) at will, so they are still \'invulnerable\' while in animal form I\'m afraid. Spike has experience in that from before Buffy & co arrived - just to clear that up. I am now very excited to hear what you think of the rest of the story! :D -3hrs
