Powerful. There's so much I want to say about your story, but that's the word that keeps coming back to me.

I really respect the authors who make their Spuffy *real*, or, as you said, keep them truly in character.

I also greatly appreciated the quotes you used. Sometimes I feel that quotes are extraneous or make sense only to the writer. Your choices not only made sense to this reader, but resonated.

Thank you. And now off to read your other stories.

Author's Response: I really enjoyed reading this review. I wish I was a talented enough writer to convey my appreciating for your usage of the word \"respect\", but I can only say thank you very much. I am very happy you found this story powerful. I actually worked quite hard on it. It was emotionally taxing, but when people use words like haunting or \"powerful\", I feel like it was completely worth it. Thank you again!

Just Say Yes by Ink Rated: 18 Liked [Reviews - 6]
Summary: (One-shot) Set sometime between "Dead Things" and "As You Were", Spike and Buffy alone in the vampire's crypt. Never really goes well for either of them, what with the misunderstandings and heartache.

I believe Spike loved/s Buffy. I also think love can be a violent, tumultuous emotion.

In fanfiction, many authors make allusions to the violent sexual relationship they (likely) had. When writing about or explaining away the attempted rape scene, there's mention of how no meant yes and stop meant push me into it. It fits canon for how Spike responded here that we don't always get to witness in stories

Author's Response: Hello! I\'m glad you thought the story fit canon. I actually work very hard at that. Mostly I write these stories for two reasons: 1) I miss the hell out of these characters, and 2) I think it\'s an excellent writing exercise - taking known characters and seeing how well I can make them recognizable as themselves. That really is a big deal to me, and it makes me immeasurably happy every time someone let\'s me know they thought I did a good job at it. Thank you very much!
