I'm glad Angel's not a bad man in this fic- Riley's bad enough. I really hope Buffy doesn't decide to accept Riley's proposal for marriage, and hopefully Spike can swoop in sooner rather than later to save both her and Dawn. And now we're beginning to find out what Joyce and Hank did to somehow wind up in Finn's debt. Great update:)

(No so in the next WIP, however. Here's a hint: Angel is a 'villain' but then again, so is Spike!!! In fact, they're cousins!)
Okay, so, as far as Riley goes in this fic and this proposal...
Buffy doesn't know William's true identity (FBI) so she's running scared out of desperation.
Right now, she thinks that William is Spike and that he's a bad guy too.
Hank indebted himself to his 'boss' Riley and being a smarmy asshole, he sold off his only daughter to the man.
In future chapters, flashbacks will reveal what prompted Buffy to run from William 7 years before. Yes, Hank, Joyce and Riley had something to do with it.

This story, just like it's predecessor, is SO cleverly written! I'm glad Spike's in Sunnydale now while Angel's still in L.A., biding his time with Kate and hiring Cordy onto the team. I wonder how Buffy will react to Spike being there, and it'll be interesting to see if she's changed at all. Great beginning, and I can't wait to see how it continues!

So much action! Yes, and who exactly is behind it? A branch of the Initiative, maybe? Or I'm just sleepy, so don't pay attention to me LOL Loved it!
Summary: Buffy Summers is the adored daughter of Hank and Joyce Summers, farmers in Nebraska, circa 1876.
Buffy is engaged to Caleb Montgomery, a local rich farmer.
Spike is in a gang of outlaws headed by his older cousin, Angel Crawford.
(I love bad ass Spike and Angel, oh yeah, and Rupert, Spike's dad; Xander, Riley, Graham, heck everybody gets into the act!)
Anyway, when Spike spies Buffy at a 'social' in Redemption, he decides to 'court' her. Which is going to be tough since he and the gang our about ready to empty the local bank's vault of all it's money and escape the local law.
Warnings: Spike and Angel are the bad guys here (yum!). Buffy is temporarily out to pasture with Caleb but their relationship will not be graphic at all, promise.
This starts mild, but goes NC-17 in the Spuffy parts!

I'm not defending her- I'm frankly quite angry with that situation still. BUT if she wrote the first two chapters of the fic like you said before in your A/N, then she should get credit because SHE wrote the chapters, NOT you. NOT giving her credit is in a way plagiarism. I was pointed to this story by one of your readers, and although I take no issue with what you're saying in your Author's Notes and trying to explain where you're coming from, I DO take issue with the fact that you've posted two "chapters" that are actually Author's Notes and tagged lyrics onto them to fit the 1,000 word minimum. As a moderator here, I'm fairly certain this isn't allowed because it still technically breaks rules. I would advise you to remove these two "chapters" and tag the A/N parts onto previous or future posts instead because it's quite possible that they might be pulled by other moderators in the future. As for your story, I think you should keep on going - it's a good author that can get their characters out of a bind, even if it takes a while.
