I am looking for an old fic in which Buffy loses her memory. I forget why Spike thought it necessary to get her away from Sunnydale, but soon after he understood she had lost her memory, I think on patrol, he took them to a hotel with plans to drive far away. Trying to come up with a plausible explanation about their relationship, he ended up telling her they were married. It was definitely post-chip Spike, though I don't remember the season, and he wasn't plotting an evil way to get into her pants, but just came up with married couple idea on the fly.
There was one scene where Buffy was taking a bath in the hotel room, and is at first embarrassed, but wants Spike to stay in the bathroom and talk to her about why she can't remember anything. She says something about how it's silly that she's embarrassed, because of course they must have seen each other naked before because they're married.
Buffy and Spike end up living together somewhere in their own house. Eventually, they come back to Sunnydale because of dreams Buffy has been having. Though she has her memory back, Buffy continues to wear the wedding ring Spike got her long before, and this causes some friction with the Scoobies. The fic is pretty old, so I'd appreciate any help. |
