Post Chosen Spike sprouts wings

I'm looking for a fic I read a few years back. All I can recall is that Spike gets wings from what was possibly an inner battle. He also has tattoos or markings appear on his body. This was at the end of the story. The site it was on had a picture of him with the tats and wings as its background. I have other details in my head but something tells me they are from another fic so I will leave those out so as not to confuse us all!

If anyone remembers this story I'd appreciate it!

Bittenandstaked's site, Tales of the Slayer dot com, has one of the few pictures of Spike with wings that I've ever seen, and the only one with tattoos. As far as I know it is only available through the internet archive way back machine.
If there is a story there that has him ending up like the picture then I didn't read it or to the end of a couple of wips.
Not sure how much this helps.

there is also a story post chosen where buffy is miserable an wont leave her room in the council house where she lives with all the slayer so willow does a spell to bring back spike or something like that but he comes back different and it turns out he's an angel and he has to drink slayer blood to survive and he can sense evil so he has to kill one of the baby slayers. not sure of the name but that might be the one you're referring to

Love in Vein is exactly what I was looking for, thanks, guys! It was one of the first fics I ever read, if not the actual first one so I was way new to fanfic and it's been a while...

I used the site through the way back machine, and can access books 1 and 2 but I can't find book 3 anywhere. I see in the chat box mentionings of it, but I can't find it in the fanfiction list nor on her update list. So does anyone have a direct link to book3??

Huh, I didn't notice that. I usually use my War and Peace link to get to her old site but I guess that one isn't on that link. Here is a link to what I believe are all of the chapters to Love in Vein Book Three. It says it's WIP but I'm pretty sure it is actually finished. It ends, anyway, in a finished manner with the 'final summary', which reads as a chapter.

It is also on the original link I gave, but you have to click on the 'fanficiton' link on her page to get to it, it doesn't link directly from the end of Book One.
