I am looking for a fic which i cannot remember the name of, and read many eons ago. The fic involves Buffy becoming the slayer and I think whistler shows up to tell her that a person has been chosen to help her. In reality both spike and angel were asked because they did not know which vampire would rise to the job, but both show up and the three move in together and become friends and fighting partners. Feelings develop between all three, but I believe Angel does nothing about it thus Buffy and Spike get together, and Angel eventually wants to move out or does, and it causes a big argument where everything is let out into the open. Sorry thats all I can remember.

No unfortunately thats not it, I remember them being based in LA, and buffy doesnt have contact with the scooby gang I think, I'm not even sure if there in the story. and I don' think there was a curse at all, but that is a good fic I've read it before and will be sure to read it again.
