Pregnancy/prophecy fic that has Buffy dying at the end.......

It's been a long while since I read this, and was in the mood to read it again, and to my dismay found that I do not have this fic saved on my HD or on a bookmark list . Anyway.... I believe the story is set in Season 2 post Lover's Walk, or if not post, it's around the same time frame, where Spike comes back from South America and wants the love spell... the story goes like this.....

Spike and Buffy have sex (although I'm pretty sure Spike raped Buffy, but not 100% sure). And Buffy ends up pregnant. Now before anyone says it's Beloved in blood by Ameeya, or Whispers in the dark by Ashlee. It's NOT!! I have both of those and while those are great stories this story takes both of those and mashes it into one. Back to the details. The pregnancy is some sort of prophecy (dark and light joining, to create a child who will bring peace, smthg like that), that states that Buffy will die once the baby is born. I remember there being a scene in the Summer's house with Joyce, Buffy, and Giles ( I think Spike is there as well) and Buffy is really bitter saying something along the lines of "great I get to die again, another prophecy is just forced on me, when I did nothing to deserve it." Eventually her and Spike end up "dating" and fall in love, and after Buffy gives birth, she does in fact die. And at the end of the story Spike is at her grave (I think with their newborn daughter) telling her how much he loves her, and how he wished things would have been different, but that he is going to do right by their child so that she (Buffy) will be proud of him.

I know it's not a lot to go on, but it was one of the few baby fics that didn't have a happily ever after spuffy ending. Plus it was kinda heavy on the angst.

I think I saw this recently and I just want to check with you while I go looking but does Buffy give birth in the forest after they have been chased by some demons or vamps? If this is the one I am thinking of there is also a one shot continuation where Spike is looking a abunch of photgraphs of their daughter and her family as he gets ready to meet the sun and rejoin buffy

I'm pretty sure its after the fall. I'm not sure who its by though

That sounds correct. Like I said it's been a while since I have read it, btu I do remember she didn't give birth in a hospital setting, or with midwives. And I didn't want to put it down in case I was wrong and sent someone off on a wild goose chase. I vaguely remember the sequel one shot. As he's looking at the pictures he flashbacks over the course of her life, and then goes to Buffy's grave and waits for the sun?? I might be confusing the sequel with another one tho. But the birth in the woods sounds about right. Sorry for the long ramble.

I know! I'm pretty sure you're looking for "One of Darkness and One of Light" by Sabershadowkat. I can't link it, but it's on EF and sabershadowkat's website. It has prophecy, non-con Spike&Buffy, Buffy dying after giving birth, the one-shot sequel, and angst.

Summary: Buffy is forced into a prophecy involving Spike. Can they both survive it? (Rated NC-17)
