Spike meets Tara after Dru dumps him and brings her back to Sunnydale with him to find the Gem of Amara. Tara decides she wants to enroll at UC - Sunnydale, so she and Spike get a house together. Spike and Buffy eventually get together, as do Tara and Willow.
