Riley comes back in season 6

Hey, I was reading this one ff a long time ago that involved Riley coming back season six while Buffy and Spike were still together. There might have been some angst but ultimately, Buffy chooses Spike and there is some Riley bashing.

As far as I recall the fic was complete and long-ish. I think Sam may have been rather involved as well.

I'd really like to read this one again. Please drop a line if you know or have an idea of which fanfic I'm thinking of.

We're talking about a spuffy fic that seems to be a lot of the time in Riley's point of view, right? I was reading that one recently but lost it somewhere. Sadly, I decided three weeks ago to completely reorganize the fics on my computer (I have thousands saved) and did away with my 'Reading Now' folder, turning it into a master list instead. I had too many on my Reading Now folder as to make it, I thought, meaningless. However, it wasn't meaningless, it held the stories I was reading or partially reading or wanted to read over two years and would have been the place to find these fics I suddenly find myself looking for in this forum. Dammit. Now I have a master list that is too big to search like this. Three weeks!! Three weeks ago I could have found it fast. I don't know why I try to organize anything, I really don't. LOL

Anyway, if I remember what it was (I'm still looking) I will post it immediately.

SMac when you say you have thousands saved, I was floored. I have maybe close to hundred or so. I know some are looking for Spike Reborn, which I might have at work. Except...I might have deleted it when I heard it was being re-worked.

Love to know how you are categorizing, because I have run into this problem...Some fics I have saved can go in numerous folders.

Like the other posting about Riley as a demon could be almost under my evil Riley folder...but it's not. It would be under a folder called BTVS_Angel Character turns Demon. Well something like that, it's in the rough 'draft' so to speak. I'm trying to figure out the major detail of this story and placing it in that folder rather than all the details it could go under: like time travel, baby, or torture, and so on...Some fit in so many categories.

I have over 3100 on my master list alone. That doesn't include ones I have only in apple claris works from my old ibook.

I have three main categories of folders: Master list (just creating it the last couple of weeks, it's still not complete from what I have saved but it's very comprehensive now). Then I have a folder that contains the folders of every single author I have a story for, and each author has a copy of their story in their story folder. The third section is by pairing. Major pairing, major character plus 'other', and major character where there is no pairing. Every story on the master list goes also into one of those 'pairing' folders. So there are three places a story might be. I tried doing a database list but it got too complex and I lost interest. I don't have any list for categories other than pairing. My new 'reading now' folder is for stories I am actually reading. I have a WIP folder for stories I am trying to read but am waiting for an update to continue. And I have a new folder (to keep my reading now folder from getting ridiculous like it did before) of stories I notice that I really want to read soon but can't right now. I have a huge computer memory so I don't care if I have multiple copies. But with over 3100 separate stories on the one list alone, you can see how it multiplies quite a bit in my system. But my system is quick, I don't have to type into a database to find stuff or type up any separate lists.

I saved stories starting long ago because a) I like to format and pick colors and fonts that are easier for my eyes to read and b) they disappear!! before I'm done with them. As this forum proves. Especially now, the show being off the air so long and people losing interest, losing jobs and having neither money nor time to keep up their sites and archives. I have found some 'now gone' stories thru back doors thankfully. Like award sites where if you click on the story you get linked to sites that 'no longer exist' and to stories that have been 'taken down'. I'm not sure how but that works.

That's ok! I think what you are doing is very similar to what I'm doing too! Except my pairing really is only Spuffy...BUT...if there are others I will put that in another type of folder. Eventually I will figure out live journal...for some reason this I still can't get on the postings...It really drives me batty! So I just lost interest in trying with that site...if not I will make lists on another site I use and put links to cut down space...

But, like you, I have tons of space for this. I have two external drives...Uh about 6 or so usb flash drives, my 1tb computer and my other computer...So I hear ya on the space. Let me tell ya the travel seagate I have and my usb drives I treat them like my cell! I never leave home without them, lol.

lmao...do you have any (that I haven't read lol) preferably Spuffy pairing k? LOL...I have been looking for specifics lately...Either Spuffy were claimed or having a baby or something like that and Xander was on a major evil binge...so far all I know of us Because He Needs Me by Dreamsofspike and then Stalk Her by Lisa...So I'm still looking...It's either Xander, Angel, or Riley....oooo or all three...Ya I am on a binge of hearing evil them lol.

Well, there are 2000 in my spuffy folder (you lot are a prolific bunch). I am not comfortable sending things out wholesale because I saved them -- even ones authors took down, asked not to be archived, etc -- with the sole purpose of me reading them. So I ignored all the 'don't archive' etc notations. If I send them all out into the universe then I'm kinda going against the author's wishes which is never my intention. For a single story here and there to a few people who ask, sure. But acting like an archive myself seems like crossing a line. You know?

If I stumble upon any 'evil' character stories I'll post them here. I don't like character bashing so I avoid obvious bashing stories unless they have other redeeming qualities. And there are many stories I haven't even read yet so I don't know what's in them or if they are worth reading. There's a lot of dreck out there too, you know?
