Both Dru and Angel are sucked into Acathala ( I think). And Buffy and Spike leave for parts unknown. It starts with her going back to her house and packing a bag since her mother kicked her out and they start driving. Neither one is eating and they are staying in all these different hotels. Then one night they turn to each other for comfort and things turn around. Eventually they make their way to the east coast, and I believe they settle in Vermont, or somewhere in upper New York. They have been living there for a few years when Giles, and Joyce show up on Buffy's and Spikes doorstep looking to bring her back to Sunnydale cause Angel has returned from hell. Giles is upset to find her with Spike and tries to make the town see that Spike is a ruthles killer, but the town already know what he is and accepts both him and Buffy. Eventually they return to Sunnydale to help with Angel. Other details I remember are that Buffy and Spike also joined a bowling league and Buffy is a nurse at the local hospital, and they have a nosey neighbor who loves to perv on Spike although she is married.
