Spike survives burning in the Hellmouth but loses soul

Hi!
I'm looking for a fic where Spike either survives burning in the Hellmouth or appears from the Amulet immediately after (I'm not sure).
Anyway, most of the fic (or at least in the first part - maybe it's longer and I don't remember what happens later) he interacts just with Buffy and she's incredibly happy to have him and even when she finds out he doesn't have his soul anymore, it doesn't matter to her or at least not in the end.
I'm quite sure that the revelation about his soul happens in some hote/motel room, probably the one where they stop after escaping the Hellmouth.
Does it ring any bells?

they destroy the hellmouth but sunnydale is spared...spike has a terrible burn on his chest from the amulet and buffy is stabbed....willow uses healing spells on both of them....spike is in buffy's bed when he tells her he's lost his soul.......she can't deal with it, and he feels he has to leave and nearly starves himself to death before buffy decides he doesn't need the soul...in the end I think willow finds a way to get it back but spike doesn't really want it.............I'm sorry but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of this story, but it's really a good one! Hope this jogs your memory:)

I think you might be on the right path ... but the thing is that I read it, like, YEARS ago and it's been bugging me on and off for months! ARGH!!!

Can you remember if it was a longer fic (something over 40 / 50 K words) or not?

Could it be this one? It's been awhile since I've read it and I don't remember all the details, but it has a lot of the key points mentioned above.

Summary: Buffy makes an unexpected move, resulting in Spike's survival of the events of Chosen.

Well, I read Come Undone and it looks like that was it - THANK YOU SKIPPER!!! - but I also realized that fic was mixed up on my memory with another one where Buffy already realized she's in love with Spike when she foud out about his lack of soul, so I think I'm going over to the FIC RECS forum and ask a more generic question. Maybe somebody will remember something!
