In this fic Spike is helping Buffy and they are lovers. Buffy is young -- still HS age I think. I dont remember anything else about this fic except for the fact that Buffy wants spike to claim her but he says he cant cause he is already mated to Dru. I dont think Dru is in Sunnydale. Dru does eventually dust and Spike and Buffy do claim each other.

That was part of that long saga, wasn't it? I'd totally forgotten. Like being madly in love and wanting to get married but your boyfriend looks at you sheepishly and says, 'yeah, about that. there's this thing....' LOL
