Buffy hits spike with car

Buffy drove to LA to see her boyfriend angel only to find he was cheating on her, on her way back home she hits spike. Spike is a famous writer. They stay at a hotel and someone tries to kill Buffy. It has sequels. I can't for the life of me remember the name, but its been bugging me for a while and I have tried like a million different searches (insert frustrated growl) and finally gave up hoping someone here could help. You have no idea how much I will appreciate it. Please and Thank you!

I also remember that Buffy is a minor in high school. Buffy and Spike fall in love, and the sequel is when Buffy turns 18 and runs away to be with him.
