looking for fiction years old

hi , im looking for a fiction i read about 5 - 6 years ago. never got to finish it , dont know if it was ever finished. buffy goes to a mansion to write a book on a woman who has had a interesting life. spike i think lives there he is a nephew or something. Buffy is living in pool house or something while she is there. The woman who she is writing about im pretty sure tells of how she was once married to Ethan. It is a all human fiction . I know this probably isnt much help but would love to find it
