Buffy has a crush on Spike but she thinks (based on rumors) that he and Xander are together since they are best friends and always together though she never sees anything actually happen. Xander does start dating Anya but is unhappy. Buffy finds out Spike likes girls when he says something regarding his art teacher but he does admit to Buffy that he is bi-sexual. Buffy and Spike do start to date eventually but he is leaving for art college in NY.

Don't think the fic was ever finished and I do recall the author saying it was based on a book.
