glitch!

I know this is the wrong place to post this, but none of the other methods of getting my problem out will have anything to do with me, so please don't shout at me.

a) The 'remember me' log in thingy does not appear to be working for me. I am having to re-log in every time I pop in, and sometimes I get logged out between pages. I don't know if it's just me, or if it a general issue.

b) The tag box won't accept any messages from me any more. First it tells me to click 'profile' and register my name (which I did ages ago) - then when I do so it tells me that I cannot register my name and to contact the owner. Again, I don't know if it's just me, but there hasn't been any new traffic in there for over a month, so I'm wondering...

c) As a last resort I tried clicking the 'contact us' link and tried to send a message to Pari (I really didn't want to disturb her, but couldn't think of anything else to do) - and was promptly told that my message could not be sent and I should go back and try again. I did. Several times. Still didn't work.

Please can anyone out there help me???????

Ha! Kidding. I have no idea, I am not the computer person around here. I'll try PM'g passion4spike who has forum computer permissions (you know what I mean) and also can contact Pari outside of the site which I also cannot do. We'll figure this out. Hang in there. And I'll leave this in this specfic forum since it doesn't go anywhere else either so you have someplace to contact us until we get you straightened out.

Have you tried a different browser? I have problems with IE like you're describing, but Firefox works fine. Let me know here or email me directly and we can try to figure it out. If not, I'll email Pari and see if she has any ideas. direct email: Passionate (at) Passion4Spike.com

Also - how long has this been happening? Did you have any updates to your software that might've caused something to mess up? Like a new version of your browser? I know I've had problems with IE updating and suddenly I can't access things I used to be able to.

It's been a few days now. I thought it was one of those mysterious computer thingies that would fix itself, but it doesn't appear to have done so.

I'm not aware of any particular updates that happened at that time, although I had a whole raft of them last night.

I never use IE for this site. The images never show up correctly, usually being absolutely massive and all pixillated. (Just checked, yeah, still useless) and for that matter almost never use it for anything else either.

I get the same problems in both Firefox and Chrome.

Grrrr ... that's frustrating! ok, well, I'm not sure what else to suggest then. I'll email Pari, if she's up and about maybe she can figure something out.

When you say the 'tag box' - you mean the chat box, right? I've never used that, and as you said, there hasn't been anything posted on it in a while, so perhaps there is something wrong with it.

On the staying logged in , I usually have to log in every single time I come to the site (daily), even when I check the 'remember' box (Unlike EF which would keep me logged in for days at a time). Of course, it shouldn't log you out during a session, I wouldn't think -although I have experienced that before myself, just not recently. (Of course, it usually does that right when I'm trying to post something large and it loses it all - never fails).

Ok, I'll email Pari and have her take a look and see if she can suggest anything.

Thanks. Yes for tag box read chat box. I haven't used it often, but I was definitely registered.

Up until recently, I had the 'remember me' box ticked and the site remembered me for several days before I had to log in again - perhaps as long as 2 weeks? It's difficult to remember precisely these things that we do automatically as a matter of routine.

Hey all4spike sorry you're having issues, I can only suggest what has already been suggested, try a different browser. As for the tag board, I probably need to make sure it hasn't expired. Also try clearing your history, deleting cookies, close broswer and brind up a new one. Sometimes it help to Spring clean

I plan to redesign the entire site soon.

I've tried to log into the chat box of and on for several months with the same problem but it didn't seem important enough to nag anyone about it.

Not exactly certain what that means, but I figured you should know about it...

I was still logged in when I came back this morning, although I had flipped back to default 2 skin instead of my saved default blue eyes. I shall monitor the situation......

Mine flips back to the default skin anytime I come here and then go back to 'home'. It never seems to remember the default Blue Eyes for me, either.

All4Spike, I'm gonna close this for now. If you're still having issues later when Pari is back we can try again.
