I read this one a long time ago but I can't remember the title or author. Spike is in hell post chosen or post NFA. Buffy finds out and goes to rescue him. There is a ton of red tape before she is allowed to enter hell. Spike is living in a crypt and tries to convince him to leave. I remember her talking to someone when she first enters hell asking if they know where Spike is. She has to go to some sort of housing office? Anyway after she finally convinces Spike that she's really there to take him home they leave. At first she says that she won't leave without him that she will turn her back on everyone and stay there in hell with him. Spike thinks it's all a trick because the Buffy he knows and loves would never turn her back on her calling. Eventually Buffy says she lied, she can't stay there with him she has to go back. That's when Spike finally believes her.
The end of the story is Buffy and Spike leaving hell. Buffy has to stop at the 'front desk' to retrieve her slayer scythe and she hears that Anya is trapped there as well. She tells them she wants Anya too. |
