drunk student spike in front of buffy's house: there is a cop

Hi everyone

I've read a story a little while ago and I only remember that Spike is a student and Buffy is a teacher, I think. And he shows up in front of her house, drunk, and a cop tries to arrest him but Buffy shows up. She tells the cop something like that he's been having a bad time and they (Buffy and Spike) go into her house.
I think they know of each other that they have feelings for each other, but haven't really done anything with it, because she's a teacher (not sure though)

I doubt the story was finished and I can't remember anything else so I hope that anyone knows which story it is.
