I remember reading a story that was inspired by Avril Lavignes Song Skater boy...

of course Spike is the Skater boy and i think it was Cordy or Ceci that turned him down and of course Buffy the one he ended up with...

i don't know the author or the name of the fix of course but i might have read it here.

if it rings a bell i really love to read it again.
