Truly in an alternate universe (not just AU.) All I can remember is that spike and buffy are members of warring clans and it is finally decided that the two of them will be married to create peace. There is some kind of wedding night ritual where in order to consummate the female has to exact complete power over the male - something spike doesn't tell buffy almost leading to disaster - but she figures it out and gets pissed that he was trying to trick her - dominating him completely. pretty sure an uneasy truce overcomes them. can't remember anything else.

I might be conflating two fics. any ideas guys??

I noticed it is a WIP is it permanent? And if so does it end well enough to tie things up? Would really love to read it but I hate cliff hangers.(series finale of Angel cough, cough) LOL

It ends on a serious cliff hanger - like little finger gripping a weed...a dead weed...

But it's such a great story to that point that it's hard to resist.
