Spike in a soldier who's never been in the outside world and Buffy is a therapist

Spikes never experienced the outside world ever and Buffy has come to help him learn how to blend in on the outside. But by them spending time with each other they begin to develop feelings for each other. Riley and Maggie Walsh are also in this story as a part of the initiative. Basically they are studying spike and buffy's reactions to one another. (everyone is human) anyone remember what this story is called and who the author is?

Summary: AU. Buffy is a psychologist. One day she is employed by a secret faction of the Government to work with a man who has no true identity, a man raised to be a killing machine for his country. She is brought to him to teach him socialization skills, and finds much more than she bargained for. Based on a story I read a few years ago about a man being trained on a secret govt. base, unfortunately I can't remember the title / author's name, but will let you know if I find out. - Found out, its titled Nowhere Man by Rebecca York. Yeah, I don't think she finished it ever. I have an incomplete copy of it up to the point I think she stopped. It's still pretty long though. If you want what I have go ahead and PM me and I'll send it to you.
