Ok so I've read the summary for this fic tons of times but now for the life of me I cannot find it and I'd really like to give it a go. Spike is in SunnyD and is already in love with a slayer there (possibly Kendra/Joyce my memory doesn't go that far) but then Buffy comes into town and things change? Any ideas as to wat fic i'm thinking of??? I know this is ridiculously vague! Sorryyyyy!!

The one that came to mind when I read your description was Prodigal by coalitiongirl, but it's Faith that Spike had been in a relationship with before Buffy returns.

Summary: After killing Angel, Buffy ran away and never returned. Now, over three years later, the next Slayer has been killed by Glory, and Buffy is needed again. But she returns to find that Sunnydale doesn't want her- especially not the witch gone off the deep end and the newly resurrected Slayer whose boytoy is the only one who seems happy to see her...

ohhhh thanks skipper but unfortunately this isnt the one im looking for. Its so frustrating!! As soon as i read the summary for it ill know the story but i cant remember the summary in that much detail either . all i know is that spike was in love with another slayer before buffy (not even sure if buffy is a slayer in this story ) and when she comes along things change and he falls for buffy

That sounds a bit like Addie Logan's Blood and Fire Joyce is a slayer supposedly killed by Spike and Buffy, who is not a slayer, goes looking for revenge.

Summary: A young woman goes looking for revenge and finds more than she bargained for... (set in an alternate season 2)

awww great read that peyton but unfortunately thAts not the one im thinking of. in my fic spike is in love/interested at least in a slayer that is not buffy where as in blood and fire that is not the case.

The one I was of is prophesy and warmth by the bear but I've just had a quick look at it and the summary doesn't really say anything about Spike and another slayer and it's post chosen so they can't be in Sunnydale.

Spent two minutes debating weather or not to post this cos I'm pretty sure it's not the right one, but it's such a good fic...

These don't really meet the details you gave but they are the only fics I know where Spike is with another slayer that haven't already been mentioned...

Better chance it is this one - it mucks around with reality/time (hint is in the name right? ha) and I think starts post series then switches back to Sunnydale changing reality with this other slayer involved (I'm not sure it is ages since I read it)

Just finished reading a fic called When we Dance by Pepperlandgirl When we Dance by Pepperlandgirl and it reminded me of this thread.

Summary

Spike returns to Sunnydale five years after he left to get his soul. Buffy's with Angel and he has a new love of his own---but some things never change. And oh yeah, the world's ending (again).

Prophecy and Warmth is wonderful. Soooo very good! And yes, Spike is with another slayer when it begins (Buffy is with a shashued Angel, but not happy. She thinks Spike is dead). So much angst! But it is completely post Chosen and NFA and not in Sunnydale.

Are you thinking of the fic where it's Faith that Spike is involved with and she's also Dawn's sister? I think Buffy is sent to Sunnydale to help with some trouble and there's eventual Spuffyness even before Spike breaks it off with Faith. What little I can remember may not be very accurate but it seems as if Faith was basically living the life Buffy had in the series; dieing to protect Dawn, being resurrected...

Does anyone know the title/author of this one?
