Post series au fic

I'm looking for a fic i read years ago that was dawn centric in the sense that it had something to do with her being the key. She's still young and she thinks Buffy is her mom maybe? And spike has always been around. Buffy works at the slayer school. I can't remember which is wich but I think Buffy is blind and spike has scars all over his face. There was something about them having to go through trials to save dawn and that was their penalty. At one point dawn eats kfc I think? I would love to read this fic if anyone remembers it! Thanks!

Is this the one where Dawn thinks that Buffy and Spike could be her parents and she does research on the history on what the Monks called "the dark warrior" - if so, this could be the Origins series by Niamh. Hope I have this right and not giving you a wrong lead - it ends up that Buffy and Spike are Dawn's parents.

LOL - I must have been falling asleep when I read your description - obviously not Origins sorry for my nutso first comments. Is this post series, that might help with the responses.
