I've searched the usual suspects and Google, and I'm beginning to think I have the title wrong. I thought it was "Reverse Psychology".
The gist was, in S6, Spike figured out that Buffy would do the opposite of what he complimented. So he started praising her for things he didn't like or didn't care about. He complimented the clothes he didn't like, and insulted the ones he did; he told her he liked her skinny and kept food around, so she ate more and gained some healthy weight back; he said he didn't care about the length of her hair, but hated it permed, and she curled it again.
It ended ... Spoilers...
With Buffy cuddling up to him, and saying something like, "My sweet baby, you make me feel so safe and loved," and him being all gruff, like, "None of that, now. I'm the Big Bad."
Obviously I remember a lot about it, so I guess I wouldn't have to reread it, but I'd like to. Anyone else remember this fic? |
