Just a heads up, I will be deleting every post I see that is not following our rules and I will delete the accounts of repeat rule breakers. You will be banned 'f-o-r-e-v-e-r' from posting to the forum. I have too much shnit going on in life to have to come here and repeatedly fix posts or send out reminders about the rules, so I'm done. If you post something, come back and the post is gone and you can't log into the forum...you've probably been banned. And the reason would be because you didn't follow our rules, so no need to email me and ask me about it, ok? Alrighty then.
So READ THE RULES, know them, love them and most importantly follow them!
THE RULES
1. This is a Spuffy forum, if you're looking for Bangel fics, Angel fics, Spander fics, etc...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! This is exclusively for seeking out Spike/Buffy fics. Spike and Buffy have to be the two central characters of the story, doesn't matter what context their relationship is.
2. Please 'read' the brief description for each forum, to ensure that you're posting in the correct forum. Honestly I tire of moving them myself, it's a lot easier to just delete' them . Below are the forums and their descriptions:
Find-A-Fic: This is the place to post about a 'specific' fic you're looking for. Meaning you've read it once upon a time but don't remember author/title and need help finding it now.
Found Fics: This is where all the found fics from the 'Find-A-Fic' forum Are moved to.
Cold Cases: These are the fics posted in the 'Find-A-Fic' forum that has not been found yet.
Fic Recs: If you're looking for a 'general genre' of Spuffy Fic for example, 'Baby Fics' or 'Buffy's a vampire fics', 'All Human fics', 'High School fics', etc...please post them here.
Fic Exchange: These are for those fics you know the title and author of, but they've either been removed by the authors or just lost in cyberspace. Post the story and author here to see if someone has it saved and will email it to you.
3. When exchanging fics, I suggest that you contact the authors and get their permission first. This is not a 'rules' but I think it's the respectable thing to do. Our rules is this, if you have a fic and you're willing to share it, do so off the site through email. Simply post your email so those looking for the fic can contact you 'through email or private messaging' to get the fic. To those seeking a fic, DO NOT post your emails, simply email/pm the fic holder through the email they provide or by clicking the pm envelope icon beside their names, if you see one. Do not post 'wayback machine' links to fics that authors have taken off the internet, that's just rude and disrespectful, if you have the links and you want to share them, again do so 'off the site' DO NOT posting them here.
4. Don't spam the forum.
5. Please 'always' be respectful. If someone has posted a query try to help them but don't post about some 'other' fic or topic in the thread, that has no relevance to the original posters query. Basically, stay on topic.
6. Please make your subject line relevant to the fic you're seeking. This will help others who might 'search' the forums. So posting things like 'Help Me!' and 'Spuffy' as the subject line isn't very helpful, please don't do that. For example if you're looking for a fic where 'Spike finds the Gem of Amara and Buffy lets him keep it', then put that as the subject line.
7. Please remember we're not here to critique fics. This is a place for us to come and help each other seek out Spuffy fics. No one is asking your opinions as to whether you liked/disliked a fic, so please keep it to yourselves. Please discuss critiques off-site.
Just because you don't like a fic or it's not something to 'your' taste does not mean that others wouldn't like it, so please try to remember that. Also what you say about a fic could be hurtful and discouraging to that fic's author.
8. If you're seeking 2 or more 'specific' fics please create separate threads for each request. Please do not stick them in one thread.
9. If you ask about a story and others respond with the authors/titles/links to possible stories, but you don't reply to let us know if your story have been found or not...your thread WILL be deleted. If the original poster states that that is not it, and it's been sitting for awhile those I will move to the cold case forum.
10. When adding a URL please use the URL/Link icon which is at the top of the text area, right above the smilies. If you just post the URL/Link and it is very long, it will cause the forum News Widget (which can be found on the the left side of the site on several pages) to be distorted and block part of the page, even the stories.
