This one I'm looking for is season 7-Spike + Buffy finally get together around the time Faith arrives, but the Scoobies &co decide Buffy needs to choose between Spike, or being leader.
She doesn't want to, but she eventually chooses being leader. Spike is not a happy puppy. I cant remember exact details, but it does have a happy ending

Good point. It's a three part series called 'Now and Always' although only the third story has that title. The first story is Latter Days and it is over at Nocturnal Light as well as Fonts of Wisdom.

No...the one i'm looking for is based DURING season 7-instead of kicking Buffy out, the potentials, giles, scoobies etc make her dump Spike because hes a distraction
