This one has been swirling through my head for a while now. It's probably post-season 3, but I could be wrong.

The only thing I remember is that either Willow or Dawn is talking about reading some book/novel/poetry collection and it comes out that Spike was the author. Apparently he became quite famous after his death, though more for the stories he wrote than for the poems he actually wanted to create. Also, Spike didn't actually know that they published his writings after he became a vampire.

Thanks in advance.

That is a nice story, but sadly it's not the one I meant.

The story I remember happened before Sunnydale was destroyed and Willow or Dawn had to read Spike's book for school, I think. As an example for Victorian literature or something like that.

Hi there,

Is it Sang et Ivoire by Holly? It's available on EF, but I couldn't find it here.

It's post-season 6, but no reference to season 7, and I think Spike's book is written after his turning, but it mentions the group in a bookstore because Dawn needed something for her class.

The Summary, which doesn't really indicate a book, is:
Spike, struggling with his soul and his love for Buffy, is offered redemption from a very surprising source. However, when signs of an uprising evil begin to appear, he must face his fear and guilt and return to the place it all began for him–Sunnydale.

I'm sorry, but this also is not the story I'm looking for.

Though Sang et Ivoire is quite good.

It's me again.

I've searched my brain for more clues about this story and came up with the following:

There was a scene where one of the girls talks about this book. They try to quote something and cannot remember it right and Spike completes the sentence in reflex. He's then asked if he's read the author (meaning his own book) and upon finding out the author's name he's all shocked and 'I never thought anybody would want to read this stuff' etc.

I could also be remembering the scene wrong and nobody of the girls is quoting anything, but Spike says something they think is from the book and then the scene goes as written above.

Thanks again.
