That's really vague....Was it a one shot or part of a longer story? Was it the beginning of a story or somewhere stuck in the middle? What season would it have been in? Chipped Spike? Souled Spike? Post Chosen universe?

There must be thousands of 'Spike meets Buffy while patrolling' fics out there....

Its in the 6th season so yes he is chipped and its after she ends it with him

Still 'very' vague SMac is correct there are probably 'thousands' of fic fitting your description, more details would be very helpful.
