I don't remember if it was a holiday fic. Basically, Spike is in Xander's basement or apartment, I think this was during season 4, anyway, Joyce is having a christmas dinner in one of the chapters or something, and SBuffy doesn't invite Spike (this was after they'd already become somewhat amiable with one another). Spike had stolen some gifts for the Scoobies and when he overheard Buffy say something about him, he decided to get rid of them and said something along the lines of "I don't know why I bothered." Sorry if it's vague, but that's all I remember unfortunately. Hope to hear from someone in the near future.
