From what I can vaguely recall, the story takes place around the time Spike's left Sunnydale to look for his soul. Buffy goes to his crypt and finds his poetry. I don't remember much else, but there was a poem that Spike wrote about Buffy getting a haircut and how it was his punishment for "daring to get too close" to her.

It had "snip snip" in it.
