i've just finished reading the season 8 comic books and the total lack of spuffy (well proper spuffy not just dreams) disappointed me and i can only hope that season 9 will at least address their relationship... anyway enough of my comic book geek rant (you should her me on helblazer...) i wanna know if these been any good alternative season 8s fics and in particular any that incorporate the buffy comic season 8 and/or angel: after the fall plot lines but with a more spuffy friendly twist!

Frankly, #40 struck me as pretty 'shippy' for Buffy and Spike. Lotsa possibilities for the fan ficcers.

I haven't read any season eight BtVS but from what I can tell (and by the author's definition) this story fits into that universe pretty well:

Summary: Grief pushes Buffy to do something really stupid. Now she has to deal with the consequences. Things get more complicated when she discovers that Spike is no longer dead.

There is a Buffy/Xander element to it, but it is definitely spuffy over the longer term of the story so don't' be put off by that if the initial pairing worries you any.
