As I said. I'm looking for any and all stories where Spike/William is fighting the good fight already before meeting Buffy and the Scoobies.

I don't care what reasons he has for doing so. I don't care if he's human, vampire, dhampir, hybrid, werewolf, other species of demon, etc. I also don't care if he has a soul or not whilst he does it.

I wouldn't mind if he uses magic (in fact, it's encouraged), I wouldn't mind him being an occult detective as well. Or him being older than Angel, or from another vampire family/clan or whatever.

I've been trying to find some of these types of stories after having read Si Primo Venit, and the Avocation series, but no luck thus far. So I am now turning to you guys in hopes that you will be able to help.

It is a bit of a cheat but in Anticipation Spike is sent back in time before Buffy is even born...

Enter Spike, who is indeed the Slayer of Slayer's, however, there is a twist. I totally rewrite the history of Angel, Dru and Spike. And Acathla doesn't even get an honorable mention, except here. Lol. Enjoy. Oh, yeah, Jenny doesn't exist, either.

Yeah, I'll take Time travel! and Forced into helping! as well. I had forgotten about those. But I suppose they could fall into my "I don't care for his reasons" sentence, so...yeah.

If you find more, please keep posting them, because I find those stories where Spike is already good, or at the very least killing demons whilst being morally ambiguous, to be interesting pieces of work.

Again, if you find anymore of what I'm looking, please tell me or update the list. I'll also keep looking for more, even though my luck is so rotten.

I only vaguely remember this because it was so long ago I read it but I think Spike is muscle for hire basically (probably just another one you have read, it isn't very obscure I'm afraid)...
