There are so many stories out there that are so good but were maybe written a long time ago and are impossible to find (looking at you FF.net). So I thought it might be fun to start a thread for lesser known fics (to those new to the fandom) or maybe just fics you don't think got a lot of attention but should, or just something so old that it's been almost lost to cyberspace. So! If you want to play, look through your bookmarks and faves and see if you have any semi-lost gems.

I'm never sure which fics are older or lesser known, so perhaps neither of these fit.

I would always recommend that people read The Colour of Devotion by Rikki_oko which only seems to only be around on wayback, so perhaps that counts.

The Scoobies are trying to start over in a new city after Spike's heroic sacrifce. The absence of the blond vampire casts a shadow over Buffy, and her longing for what is lost only increases when the works of a nocturnal artist begin to mysteriously appear.

I also have a real soft spot for Achilles Heel by Elizabeth and that doesn't seem to get mentioned much and is I think only findable through Wayback now too.

Cool! I don't think I've read either of those. I think if it's only on wayback it counts, for sure!

One of my all time favorite writers was Ariane - I fell in love with her work years ago when I first started reading fanfiction - It's a shame that her works is only available with the WBM and maybe a couple of other sites - which only archived a few of her stories.

I wish I knew what happened to this writer - last time she posted anything about herself she was extremely ill -

Not sure if all the links works - I think most of them do but with the WBM - problems can sure come up - Hope you will check out her works.

Last time I checked, All About Spike was still on line (even though it hasn't been added to in years) and many older, very good fics can be found there.

Thanks for contributing, nmcil! I may have read some of Ariane's fics but I'm not sure - I'll definitely check them out!

slaymesoftly - SO many good fics on All About Spike. I recently read Descant Descending for the 1st time and was blown away. For this post I'm just hoping to compile a little list of some stuff not easily found on the web.
