Buffy loses or hasn't yet got her Slayer power

Hi guys - can anyone point me in the direction of any good fics where Buffy either loses her Slayer power or has not yet come in to it, and where Spike has to help her out? It could be he rescues her during the Cruciamentum, or when she's sick, or been poisoned or incapacitated by an enemy, when she's still a potential etc etc!

Well, she hasn't lost her slayer powers per se, but she is severely disabled in these two fics and Spike cares for her. The first one is bleaker than the others, but is one of my favorite fics of all time, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is part of The Bittersweets Series:

In this one Buffy goes through the cruciamentum with Spike as the vampire locked in with her. So he's not 'caring' for her exactly...

Buffy and Spike get sucked into a Romance Novel and have to live through the plot to get out. Buffy doesn't have her slayer abilities while she's in there.

What if I'm not the Slayer? by Caro Mio.

A fantastic fic, though WIP. After the Master kills her at the end of season one, Buffy is no longer the Slayer. But we know she's meant to be more than an oblivious, normal girl.

I really loved this fic, and how unique the ideas were, especially working with such an early season. I haven't given up hope that it will eventually be updated.


Honeymoon in Vegas by bloodshedbaby is another good one. It begins with pre-Slayer Buffy meeting Spike in Vegas, and then meeting up with him years later as the Slayer.
