Attempted Suicide

I'm in the mood for something heart-wrenching. I've just read a couple of incredibly depressing one shots, one including suicide, and for some reason I'd like to torture myself some more.

So, any attempted suicide fics? Failed attempts, successful attempts, someone changing their mind at the last minute, all of it is good. I just need that moment when your heart twists in your chest, it can go wherever afterwards. I'm not really looking for a specific ending, like either happily ever after or heavy angst. Anything goes, as long as it's well written.

Death Takes its Toll by Uncaged Muse, not an obvious suicide fic but very very compelling.
It creeps me out every time I go back and reread it, and I still have to do so every now and then.

Does anyone have a link to "Puppy-dog Eyes," the continuation of ". . . on the Highway of" by Margot? At the end of "on the Highway of," Buffy and Spike are separating. The next story is needed to get them back together. I'm not aware of whether or not there's a third story in the arc or even more than that, but the entire arc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

On the Highway of... is the second story of a series called Primal Dreams. It is primarily a B/A fic so it's not spuffy in the other stories at all. Spike in fact tends to fall to Willow rather than Buffy in the series. But 'On the Highway of...' is such a good Buffy-Spike story that I really do recommend it, even if the pairing doesn't last throughout the series. For some (like me) that isn't a problem. It starts with 'All Too Human', which also deals with Spike and Buffy quite a lot although I don't remember as much about it. 'On the Highway of...' was always the one that I longed to read again and again, probably because of the stark beginning that prompted the recommendation in this suicide thread. But Margot was one of the very first fan fiction writers I ever read and got me hooked at the time. She is worth reading.
