I know I've read the beginning of one but I can't think of the name. There is a B/A/R one called Heartbeat by Mistress Ace where Spike is the only one who can rescue Buffy from the Initiative where she is being tortured but I haven't read most of it yet so I don't know how how it all winds up. But the fact that there is no 'S' in the pairing listing doesn't bode well for ultimate spuffiness even though Spike is the rescuer.

I'll keep looking, I know I have one...

Summary:
Season 4 Initiative based. Buffy is captured by the Initiative before Spike but when they are pitted against each other for 'testing' they continue their shaky truce. The duo have to put past feelings aside in order to find a way out of the Initiative and work together to bring down the operation.

Aren't there a few of slaymesoftly's where Spike saves Buffy from the Initiative?

There is also one by Kari_mouke called Taking the Initiative, but in that one Spike and Drusilla are also captured and tortured before they all break out together, destroying the place in the process. It continues w/them coming back to Sunnydale because Buffy's mom is dying and that's when Giles, and the Scoobs find out what really happened.
