I really loved the ending for Season 6 and I thought it had a lot of potential for Spuffy that was not lived up to in Season 7. Can anybody recommend some fics that go AU after the Season 6 finale?

There are a lot of 'when Spike came back from Africa' fics. Does it need to skip even that much of season seven? I mean, Spike goes away in season six. Obviously he'd have to come back in order for there to be spuffy. But does the story have to not have him having gone to Africa and getting a soul for it to meet your criteria? If that is making sense to you...

You might try either of these stories. Both have much happier Spuffy endings, and they pick up right towards the end of Season 6.

Intimate Strangers by Kallysten (located at Nocturnal Light)

Summary: Alternate Season 7. Starts a few days after Grave. Spike returns to Sunnydale ensouled and ready to die, but as usual his plan doesn't work so well.


The Seraph by Maryperk (located at Elysian Fields)

Summary: During Spike and Buffy's confrontation in the bathroom, Buffy has a vision that changes how she perceives the vampre. Can this perception survive a trip to Los Angeles to rescue Angel?

'When Spike came back from Africa' fics sound exactly like what I am looking for. They could include some of the actual events from Season 7 or not, as long as the First isn't messing with Spike and making him crazy.
