Older fics.

I am hoping this is the correct place for this thread as I'm not sure any others fit. I only discovered the lovely world of Spuffy Fanfiction and SR two years ago. Basically, I'm at that point where I feel like I have read and reread everything. I'm wondering if anyone has any OLDER, well written fics that were taken down but not put on the "DNE" list. It can be AH, Canon, slightly off Canon, whatever. I'm just looking for something new (even though it's old). I've been told that some of the best fics were written years back but are now offline or missing in cyberspace. I'm not asking for any "do not exchanges" and I'm not asking for any that have been turned into it's own publication. Just wondering if anyone has any saved fics on their computer that they would like to share that cannot necessarily be found online anywhere... Thanks for your help. Sorry if this is the wrong thread - is there a more appropriate one?

How often do you read from a Wayback Machine link? If not often then maybe you haven't read anything by BittenandStaked yet? I don't think she often posted in places other than her own webpage.

I have indeed read BittenandStaked stuff and live it very much. I'm kinda useless when it comes to the Wayback Machine link.. I've never really used it.. I mean, I've used it as in I've seen other people post through it and just followed the link? I'm not sure how to navigate my way around it.. I'm used to just sticking to SR and main sites. Any other sits I've found have been through threads. Thanks though.

Ps. Thanks to whoever moved the thread. Feeling kinda dumb now that I'm I guess paying attention a bit more... lol.

I'll assume you've been through All about Spike, so Nan Dibble and her ilk are no surprise.

Also the Better Buffy Fanfiction Archive has loads of fiction that you have to use the wayback machine for.

Miss Murchison's Chiaroscuro is excellent. Her old site seems to have disappeared.

MustangSally and Rivka T's The Bowiehabarata Series - these are hilarious! Google is your friend.

Any of Miranda's fics are great - Adversaries, Soulmates, Torches and Old Flames.

Her site is gone too.

Wisteria's Current Traffic Conditions As of 5:17 p.m. is a challenge to find.

There not necessarily older, LJ also has some terrific writers who you may not have explored yet - Quinara, darkapple, thedeadlyhook. There's also Dancing Lessons on LJ. Wonderful read!

I tend to read by author - Gwyneth Rhys, Mr Monkeybottoms, Helga Von Nutwimple, Ginmar are earlier authors who are excellent. It's really endless and depends what you want.

Anything here I have copies of so if you want something message me.

Wisteria's site can be reached here including Current Traffic Conditions As of 5:17 p.m.. Or a more recent version here. Everything she's written is amazing. I especially loved Hard Candy which she cowrote with Annie Sewell Jennings.

Speaking of Annie Sewell Jennings, most of her stuff is available through All About Spike, but if it's not there it's here.

Miranda can be found towards the bottom, here.. IIRC not everything on that page is Spuffy, but I think most of Miranda's stuff is.

I just posted links yesterday to the The Bowiehabarata Series on another thread. It's available at AO3 under Rivkat's name as MustangSally is not there yet.

When Miss Murchison took her site down I think she faithfully placed it all up at Elysian Fields, But in case she didn't here's a Wayback to her old site.

Here's Gwytheth Rhys's old fanfic site.

Mr Monkeybottoms' old site.

Helga von Nutwimple, sadly never finished her long fics but they are available here along with several of her short works at The Crypt (which is different from Crypt of Fic), along with dozens of other authors. The Crypt, however is Spikecentric but not specifically Spuffy.

Most of Ginmar's stuff is at All About Spike, but she had some things available on alanna's (Wisteria's) site as well.

It's not old, but it is only available on LiveJournal so have you Darkapple's Imitation of a Man? If not I HIGHLY recommend it. It's a sweeping epic and completely amazing.

Pepperlandgirl is another excellent Spuffy writer. She quit to write m/m romance under the name Pepper Espinoza, but her stuff is still accessible on the net. One of the stories listed, Mad World, was rewritten as original fic and I don't think that link still works, but I tested some of the other stories and they do.

There's an excellent "nonfiction" piece that I don't think is still available on the internet so if you'd like to read Lydia Chalmers' Thesis on Spike (as discussed in Checkpoint. Lydia Chalmers is the name the authors gave to the red haired Watcher with the fascination for Spike in Checkpoint. The thesis became so iconic that I thought for a long while that Lydia Chalmers was the Watcher's name in canon) drop me an IM with your email address and I'll send it.

Kantayra also dropped her site when she stopped writing. A lot of her stuff is available elsewhere but again, I think there's some stories here that she never bothered reposting.

My list was getting way too long, so I started a second one:

Elsa Frohman was also an amazing writer whose stuf went dark when archives started going down.

Laure Alexander was a great Spuffy author who allowed her site to lapse when she left the fandom. I don't remember seeing any of her stuff on the newer, still extant sites.

The Sandlot was an epic archive site. sadly the Wayback link is partially broken but some of the authors are still available.

Dutchbuffy2305's stuff is still available online, but I don't think she cross posts to archives a lot so here's a link to her stuff just in case you've never seen it.

Anna S (who is NOT Annie Sewel Jennings) wrote an amazing series called Season Noir. She stopped suddenly at episode 15, but the extant 15 stories are an excellent read.

Magpie aka Pied Margaret's Serpentigena Sequence is also quite excellent.

Sadbhyl's site went down but she reposted her stuff at AO3. I can't get a filtered link to post to separate her Spuffy stuff from her other fics so here's a Wayback link to her defunct site. I highly recommend Impossibly Delightful Flesh.

Again not so much an older author so much as an author who does not archive so you may not have run across them; The Deadly Hook has written some really excellent Spuffy.

There's also PJZallday, who I don't believe is archived on any still existing sites.

Wow! There are definitely some sites mentioned that I've been through but also some that I've never heard of or never really thoroughly looked through. Thank you so much, I'll definitely take a peek through everything! Thank you again so much!
