I've finally made it back to finish this wonderful story. I love everything about it. Glad Spike didn't kill Riley even though he deserved it. It would have damaged Spike. So glad that Kennedy {boo hiss} got her just desserts. Great that you've brought Rona in as the newbie Slayer, although I would have liked Vi or Amanda just as much.
Willow & Xander have both redeemed themselves too - so 'all's well that ends well' despite the fact that it's obvious there is far more to come. I hope you can keep revisiting this 'verse for a long time yet. I'm particularly eager to follow the development of the twins and Oz & Tara's baby.
Summary: Season 4 - Starts with the episode "Something Blue" and goes off canon from there. Spike and the Scoobies have no idea what the chip is capable of... and once it starts to misfire, Spike becomes a wealth of information. Giles becomes obessed with Spike's new-found ability and Buffy starts to look at him in a new light. But what will Riley and the Commandos do when they catch Spike in this state? Will the Scoobies save him in time? Do they even want to? Not the usual "Something Blue" fic.

Oh poor Spike, but good that Buffy is getting to know the 'real' Spike, even if it is because she's overhearing what are supposed to be private thoughts. Let's hope that they'll soon figure out what's going on and Buffy will kick Riley where it hurts...

Interesting concept and I'm admittedly curious as to why the Council wants Buffy & Dawn and why they should spring for a 3rd person to make the trip without specifying who. Glad to see Buffy accepting Spike as a 'boyfriend' now she knows Dawn knows about them and accepts him, although I'd prefer them not to keep it a secret, I always enjoy seeing Xander's head explode when he finds out. You might want to get someone to look at your grammar though, your tenses sometimes go a bit wonky.
Author's Response: Sorry about that...I believe it's only in this latest chapter that my tenses went Wonky as you put it... Back when I originally wrote it, I wasn't paying attention of which tense I was really writing in & therefore so called Wonkyness ensued! I tried to fix what I could without completely re-writing the chapter & I thought I got most of it, but apparently not enough. :( Again, I apologize!! I believe the rest of my upcoming chapters are in the right (or at least SAME) tense. I'm currently waiting on some time to myself to update! Hopefully you'll stick with me & the story!

Only just found this fic, and I have to say I'm loving your take on the whole Glory thing. Ethan Rayne is sure to add wackiness, and the breaking of the spell disguising Glory's existence as Ben can only be good. Glad to see Giles in particular more accepting of Spike. (Goes without saying that I'm delighted with Buffy turning to Spike instead of Riley...)

I love the slow progression towards companionale trust. Yup, everything's going to be different now! But... where's the return trip? Where's the reunion with the Scoobies and the defeat of Glory without Buffy needing to die as Spike will be with them to see Glory morphig into Ben? More please!

I think it's a mistake for them not to be honest with Buffy about Spike being a vampire, and her being the Slayer,secrets are badness being stored up for the future... they're always so sure they know what's best for her! Let's hope Spike & Dawn can break it to her gently and that she doesn't react too badly...
Author's Response: I am guessing you do not like the story? The point of the story is to give Buffy a clear view of Spike without the history they have. I have no intention for her learning who she is or that Spike is a vampire for a long time. Sorry....But thanks for the review!

Weird. I can believe the fact of Spike waiting for Buffy and Buffy giving Angel the elbow, but I'm not sure about there being vampires in heaven and the logistics of blood and other.. um... bodily fluids... in heaven either. A good sentiment though.

I've just thought... if FutureSpike is inhabiting PastSpike's body, where's PastSpike? Can't they do a spell to separate them somehow so YoungBuffy can have one too? Can't think why I have never read this story before, but just had to let you know how much I loved it. No big fights, no cliffhangers and no sex, but you managed to hold my interest throughout with Buffy & Spike's slowly developing relationship as her 'friends' got on with their lives without her - as they likely would have done if she hadn't died on the tower. Goos work. Now to see if I've missed any of your others....

Not quite sure about Riley's benevolent attitude to Spike, but everything else certainly rings true in this intriguing opening chapter. I can certainly believe Giles' attitude after the events in season 7, although I did think he acted completely out of character in that whole story arc. Interested to see where you're taking this...
