Like that Buffy is letting herself trust and rely on Spike! Also, very glad for the flashbacks, although that last one happened a lot like I had imagined. Would love an update on how Faith and Angel are doing! Since I know there is never good w/o bad I'm bracing myself for whatever comes next! I've been meaning to tell you how much I love the way you write Spike's soul! It's like it's a separate entity with it's own thoughts, feelings, actions, and it clearly has it's own agenda where Buffy is concerned. I'm guessing that as the story progresses it will be harder for Spike to differentiate the soul from any other part of himself like with the reaction to Buffy in the library. BTW, that whole scene was brilliant, and I suspect Giles is beginning to see a bit of the bigger picture! Excited for the next chapter!

Spike is accepting help? Yet another step in the right direction. I now hate Xander more for leaving Spike to get injured without a second thought. I would love it if Buffy found out he was the reason Spike was fighting Olaf! At least he'll have that scar that I'm sure we've all wanted to reach out and gently caress.

Poor, confused Spike doesn't understand why Buffy keeps getting to him and making him act like someone other than himself. Maybe he's not as dead inside as he thinks! And I thinks it's possible the nightmares are getting worse b/c he's finally settled somewhere, but he's not really moving on with his life just hiding from his past and leading this painful, solitary existence. Ok, wow, love that this story has me putting my psych minor to use!

I'm so proud of Spike! This is a huge step in the right direction for him! He's finally realizing that the life he's living isn't really a life and it's okay to have people in your life! And Buffy's "tell me that you don’t feel anything when we’re together" speech was genius! Loved this chapter, I feel like it was a turning point!

Good, that bastard Ethan is dead! Perhaps that will help Spike overcome his problems with the past. It figures that just as his life was starting to get better his past would show up. At least it's only his mother, but I'm guessing it's gonna cause problems with Buffy, especially if he doesn't want to explain his past to her. It was all going too well, should have seen the badness coming!

An now it's time for William to come clean, at least about who Drusilla is. I really hope he's more afraid of losing Buffy because he can't be honest than he is of what she'll think about his past. Great chapter! He's obviously not ready to risk losing Buffy by telling her but he's still letting her in in other ways. I think the physical intimacy of a kiss is almost more of a breakthrough for him than if he's told her the whole story! And it was just so sweet!

So very sad! Lots and lots of tears. I know I've read this before and I can't imagine why I didn't review unless I couldn't with all the crying. Absolutely loved it! The relationship between Dawn and Spike, the way Angel is being so supportive, Buffy getting him to keep going is all pure gold!

Summary: Re worked one shot fic previously posted here and on B/S central. Set during and after lessons.... Spike, then Buffy's point of view.
The poem and the first part is Spike's pov, while being tormented by the first. The second part are Buffy's thoughts when she reaches her home, after finding him at the school.
The poem at the beginning is an attempt at Spike's bloody awful poetry, the fic itself is my answer to a reviewers request to expand on the poem.

Beautifully written and absolutely brilliant! I love the poetry, it very easily could have been written by Spike. And changing the pov for each of them gave a lot of insight into their feelings rather than just showing their actions. Nice job!
