Summary: Hank Summers is the head of the Summers Mafia which is based in L.A. William “Spike” Giles is the co-leader for his family’s mafia branch in L.A. as well while his dad, Rupert Giles is at the head base in England. Hank and Spike need to alliance against the other two main mafias. Spike takes an interest in Hank’s oldest daughter Elizabeth Summers a.k.a. Buffy. In exchange for loyalty between the two men Spike demands for Buffy to be his mistress maybe even possible wife and Hank agrees. What will Buffy do when she is forced over to a man she thinks is just as horrible as her father and she is left to lead the life of a mafia leader’s mistress. Spike is intrigued by her innocence with mix of her stubborn streak and a mouth that seems to always put him in his place. Will Spike be able to tame her and get her to live with the life he leads or will she just shun him for the rest of their lives?

Summary: Once in a galaxy, far, far...oh, that’s been done. Right then. Humankind has been at war with the Aurelians for decades. When the two sides finally reach the point where negotiation is better than annihilation, a truce is called and a treaty negotiated on the planet currently under dispute. The peace treaty is cemented symbolically by the joining in marriage of the two youngest soldiers present, thereby throwing Buffy and Spike into a relationship that they really, really, don’t want.
Although not a traditional Vampire versus Slayer scenario, it is close enough to be familiar.

For some reason I didn't get a notice there were updates to this story. I just read chapters 12 and 13. Like how Buffy got into an adventure on her own. Tipsy Buffy is fun. Ennico was taking a huge chance messing with her. At least she told him to keep his hands to himself. He's lucky Spike didn't go after him. Spike is a goner. Hope Buffy realizes soon she feels the same way.

Happy ending? Wasn't he surprised by her low key reaction when he asked about it? It was clear she didn't know what he meant by happy ending. LOL. Never understood why men think Happy Ending isn't real sex.
Then ego much? He couldn't believe why she couldn't see he was the best for her?
Now the whole slap fest-I had one of those with my ex, but it was with fists. It went on for awhile till we started laughing at each other. Have to say he never hit me again. Always had a bit of fighter in me myself.
Guess a big old wall will be built between them for awhile.

So sorry to hear of the illness of your loved ones. Had to take care of my mom toward the end. Difficult, but wouldn't trade those moments for anything.
Love you story. Wondered if Riley was going to turn out to be the painful memory that messed with Buffy's head and heart. Spike and Buffy need to really talk. Surpised they didn't let this drift on too long, but a good surprise.

This must have been a difficult chapter for you to write due to death.
So good of William to step in and take care of Buffy this way. Being in her home town may open up some of her issues so that he will get to understand her a bit better. Small town America is so different than a big city or for a person raised in England. Small town America and small town in England are very different. Not so much the people, but the way of life. Different pace and local ways.
Author's Response: It really was - and funny enough, I'd written most of it before my m-i-l was given her diagnosis. But of course I wanted to plug ahead with it anyway because it does serve an important purpose in the fic. And indeed small town anywhere is different than cities. I understand Fred and Buffy talking about Spike, Liam and Dru because it furthers the story, but Spike was so firm about his privacy when he originally talked to Buffy it was odd. Odd in that Fred would talk about Spike's private business. Otherwise I understand how it move the plot along.
