Summary: Off cannon from season two. Over a hundred years ago a slayer went against her calling, and fell in love with a vampire, becoming his mate, and managing to bear him a son. He is half Vampire, half Slayer, with one foot in the darkness and one in the light. After the violent death of his mother he has to decide what path to take. In present day Sunnydale Buffy meets Spike in the alleyway behind the Bronze, but he is not just a vampire. He is William the Bloody, Saviour of Slayers.
