Cat people in an alternative dimension

Hi,
I am looking for a fiction were the scoobies get thrown into an alternative dimension. They land on a beach and they argue with Spike about how to proceed. He takes off because he sees bad weather coming and goes up a cliff and finds a cave. He does bring them to it, but as always Xander is hostile so Spike doesn't let him in until Anya begs him to. In the morning they find a road; Spike goes ahead to grab a local whom they scared because of the way they look (he also grabs the guy's purse for local money). They wind up in a village inn and meet the local wizard/wiseman. He informs them that the portal to get back to their world is in the territory of their enemy. They head there and the terrain is more wild; they soon discover that they are being pursued by big cats. These cats turn out to be shape shifters, the young ones with jeweled collars controlled by their parents, and take them in (much to Xander's protest, luckily he falls ill so can't argue too much). I could descibe more, put I don't want to spoil it for other readers. I read it a short while ago and am kicking myself for not remembering the title and author. Your help is much appreciated.
