I'm having trouble trying to pin down a fic where Spike is sent back in time to Season 2. It's not His Way by dreamweaver (although that is a great fic also). His approach in the story I'm looking for to alter events is, shall we say, less harsh than in that fic. It does have Buffy noticing the cute ultra blond guy while she's dancing to Stupid Thing by Nickel in the Bronze. But he doesn't let on that he's a vampire off the bat. A key thing in the fic is he digs up the Gem of Amarra, and a scene I recall is he surprises Buffy at the mall in the middle of the day, and they hang out. They form a bond before Angel discovers who the "other" guy is and letting Giles know he's a vamp. I recall Angel witnessing through the factory window Spike's execution of the Annoying One, and wondering why he did it. I also think that Spike tells Angel it's his responsibility/time to take care of Dru, but unfortunately Angel's solution is to stake her. Hopeful that and thankful to someone able to assist. |
