Hey all,
I'm looking for a fairly long fiction centering around Spike around S5/S6. He's approached by W&H to "get the chip out" but they stake him and then bring him back as human by the same ritual they used on Darla. He escapes a hospital and makes it back to Buffy, where they became intimate. Then Drusilla comes with other vamps and revamps him. There's some big ritual W&H want to perform to open portals with the guide of a witch/demon and they kidnap Dawn as she's still the key. At the site of the ritual in the woods outside of LA, the Scoobies and the AI team try to save Dawn, but get caught. Spike turns against the bad guys, bites Dawn and Buffy and throws himself into the portal to close it. Awhile later, Cordy gets a vision, and the AI team head to the woods again, where they find an emanciated Spike just returned through the portal. He's been in a frozen dimension for 100 years. As he recooperates, Wesley discovers in the same tomes/scrolls about Angel's Shanshu, there are other mentions of the Aurelian line. It turns out that Spike is the "keeper of the key." He's the one that is to close the portals that Dawn opens like he did at the evil ritual. I think I summarized alot, but I'll leave out whether it's a Spuffy ending in case folks want to read it (if anyone does remember the title and author). |
