Spike gets Buffy a puppy

I can't remember too much about this fic except I believe that Spike and Buffy are already a couple. Spike wants to get a dog and he decides on a bull mastiff puppy. I think the dog is pretty protective, even with its big paws for a puppy. I can't remember much else, but it's bugging me for the past couple of days. Can someone help me put my mind to rest?

Ah, yes, thank you. The Peacemaker Chronicles by Nimue Tucker; I read it on FanFiction.net. The bull mastiff puppy comes in Book Four of the seven book series (I did a Find on mastiff through the books until it came up). It's amazing the little things you remember from long epics. The scene of introducing the puppy to their home is so cute ("Is that a pony?"). Actually, the whole series is pretty good. Thanks again; now I can get some rest tonight.
