I know the subject field doesn't help but quite frankly thats all I remember. I thought about this story while reading another but its been years since I've actually read it. All I remember was that it was a fairly longer fic and someone (Spike or Buffy-I think it might be Buffy idk) is taken hostage in a huge warehouse/building thing and is chained up under this huge skylight/open ceiling (For dusting purposes) that the significant other (whichever isnt chained up) can see because they scaled the building and jumps through and fights ultimately freeing the one chained up. I know its basically a shot in the dark with what little detail i remember but if anyone can help that would be awesome or just tell me I can't be helped haha

OK just speculating here......but wasn't this at wolfram & heart building? I seem to recall the scoobies coming to the rescue but they were kept from reaching the roof where Spike was hanging by the building walls/floors shifting and changing and there were evil challenges as a means to divert them from their goal which was to stop the ritual. I seem to recall a room filling up with sand with Giles and maybe Willow/Tara trapped and they had to escape... and something to do with either a moon/sun eclipse or stars alignment which would trigger the ritual. Memory seems to think it had something to do with bringing back some ancient evil or simply someone's long dead husband.... ancient Egypt and artifacts also rings a bell and Spike was either the blood sacrifice or his body was required...... might be confusing two stories here! I can't remember how Buffy got there to save the day though so maybe not what you were thinking of.

Buffy The Vampire isn't it either. I may be mistaken but they might have had a kid...a little boy named james or something or maybe I'm just making up stories in my head. I have no idea

Guest's request reminds me of a fic where the big showdown is Willow performing an evil ritual in a large warehouse, with Spike is pinned against a wall as described. I also remember some of the fighting taking place in the rafters. And maybe Faith is there, too? Also, I think the sunlight hits Spike but he doesn't dust, and Buffy or someone wraps him in a fire blanket.

123Sonja's "bringing back some ancient evil" rang a bell for me, too--a story in which Willow, fiddling around with things she shouldn't, opens a box in the Magic Shop and releases an evil...witch(?), part of a couple. The Scoobies don't notice it when the witch takes over Willow's body. Possessed!Willow performs the ritual to release the other half of the couple.

your first descriptions sounds very familiar and that may be the one I'm thinking of....the second one sounds familiar too but that may be just because I've read that one. I'll take a look at the second one but your first description sounds close. Thank you for trying

Charisse's first option sounds like Miss Murchison's Chiaroscuro series. No chains in that one though. Just magic holding Spike in place. Not sure if her site is still up and running but that was also called chiaroscuro. Wonderful fic!
