Usually I look for fics on archives like SR, EF etc., but I've come across some VERY good fics by authors who post only on their Live Journal (for example Cindergal and Darkapple), only they are much harder to find!
So, can you rec me some other good authors/stories that can't be found in the main archives?

In addition to what I wrote above, could you please rec me also good authors who post only on fanfiction dot net (since I almost never go looking there)?

The best thing to do is check posters in the early 2000's on spuffy fanfic LJ communities

One of the best places to find LJ recs is on the Cold Dead Seed site. There is a Spuffy thread and the posters there -- Moscow Watcher being one of the primary ones -- are very in tune with LJ posters and reccing great fic

You can also check out the Better Buffy Fiction archive site (which is open to all )and it's yahoo groups links section (for access to the links you have to actually join the group mailing list on yahoo) to see BtVS fanfic recs of stories, many of them not as currently known or available elsewhere right now.

Many of the very best and universally esteemed writers of BtVS fanfic are or were members of BBF and have some of their stories saved there. You can find stories there and also find names of authors you can also google to see if you can locate more of their work. BBF had a maximum number of stories per author permissible in the archive so not all stories of any author are saved there even if many others would have been just as awesome. Note that it is not a spuffy archive, it is a BtVS archive. But many members were spuffy fans and there are quite a lot of spuffy fics there as a result.

So...there's that.

You need to try sweetprincipale over at fan fiction.net. She has several really great stories. Her Sex and Candy series is fantastic.. Enjoy!
