Post Series - Buffy working as a waitress in the middle of no where.

I'm trying to find a fic that has Spike finding Buffy in a diner as a waitress late at night in the middle of no where. It is definitely post Chosen and I believe it's post NFA as well. I think the reason he stopped at this particular diner is because his car overheated and he has been searching for her for a long while. I remember she takes him to a run down shack where she is living, trying to stay off the radar of Giles and the Scoobies.

I don't recall who the author was but it's old and I don't have it on my master list although I do have it in an author folder -- if I knew which author to look under. If this sounds familiar as a title and you know the author (anyone out there) I'd appreciate if you would let me know so I can look it up in my files. It's really bugging me (and could be the story being requested as well). Thanks.

No, I do not believe it is Mortal Enemies. I didn't recognize the name as being associated with this fic and I've checked the sites I've read at for years for all fics with this name and none of them fit the post series or what I remember of the fic.

Thank you!! Yes, it is. Since you provided the author for me I was able to find it in my author folder for Laure Alexander - I saved it so long ago it's in my old cwk appleworks version and if you hadn't told me who wrote it I would never have known where to look. My master list doesn't have those old files on it.

It was a good story, although you're right, she wasn't waitressing in it, she was doing other manual labor when Spike ran into her. It's such a lonely story.

Thank you so much! This is the fic and I have no idea why I didn't check Dampersandspoons for it. I knew it wasn't an extremely old fic and should have had her fics at the top of my list to check.
